Manama, July 17 (BNA): In the presence of Fatima bint Jaffar Al-Sairafi, Minister of Tourism and Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Higher Education Council, visited Vatel Bahrain, College of Hospitality at its headquarters in Al-Jasra.


During the visit, the Minister of Education was given a detailed brief by Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Director-General of Vatel Bahrain, focusing on what the college aspires to achieve, including the agreements it has with a number of prestigious educational and training institutions.


The visit also included an introductory tour of the college building and facilities.


On this occasion, Minister Al Sairafi affirmed that the education and higher education sector is a key partner in the efforts of the Ministry of Tourism to qualify national cadres and provide them with skill sets, experience and knowledge in the tourism fields, noting the role played by the Ministry of Education in raising tourism awareness among school students and linking them to their history and heritage.


Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak Juma praised the role of Vatel Bahrain in training and qualifying national cadres, in accordance with the highest international standards adopted in the hospitality and tourism sector, stressing the importance of focusing on increasing tourism awareness among school and university students and developing the tourism sector.
