Exhibition World Bahrain signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Vatel Bahrain Hospitality and Culinary Management School to provide mentorship and career guidance and opportunities to students, host various guest speakers and attract mutual beneficial opportunities. The agreement was signed by the General Manager of Exhibition World Bahrain, Dr. Debbie Kristiansen and Vatel Bahrain’s General Director, Shaikh Khaled bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.


The MOU establishes a formal joint co-operation between the region’s newest exhibition and convention centre and the esteemed international business school, closing the gap between academia and the industry.


The partnership will provide a mutually beneficial and close working arrangement by offering student work placements and internships, sharing knowledge and experience, hosting guest speakers, collaboration on research projects and media opportunities. This strategic partnership is a joint effort to nurture the hospitality community.


General Manager of Exhibition World Bahrain, Dr Debbie Kristiansen commented, “Our aim is to educate and develop the skills of the next generation and provide the students with unique opportunities within the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) industry in the Kingdom of Bahrain.”


Dr Debbie added that Exhibition World Bahrain’s management is committed to its social responsibility within the Bahraini community.  

“Developing and nurturing young talents is a key priority for us at Exhibition World Bahrain. We are delighted to kick-off our collaboration with the education sector with Vatel Bahrain.”


From his side, Vatel Bahrain’s General Director, Shaikh Khaled bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, stressed on the importance of cooperating with Exhibition World Bahrain, pointing out the importance of the diverse opportunities that will be provided to the students, as the hospitality and tourism industry is not limited to the context of hotels only, but rather in various sectors and careers.


This partnership will provide unique and qualitative opportunities in various fields such as hospitality, tourism, events management, forums, regional and global conferences.


Shaikh Khaled bin Khalifa Al Khalifa expressed his confidence that the students will achieve a beneficial journey at Exhibition World Bahrain, as this experience will be a powerful and unique addition to the students’ education and career, as it will focus on developing the students’ professional competencies and employability skills in accordance with international standards.


In addition, Shaikh Khaled bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Vatel Bahrain’s General Director, toured the state-of-the-art venue by visiting the multiple space configurations it offers such as the Grand Hall, VIP majlis rooms, meeting rooms and the organiser’s offices available at the venue.


As part of its continuous efforts, Exhibition World Bahrain, the region’s newest exhibition and convention centre, is committed to providing educational opportunities to enhance the capabilities of Bahraini youth and developing the future workforce, by providing them with distinguished expertise and skills in the field of exhibitions, tourism and hospitality.
